Poonch terror attack carried out with local support J&K DGP

Jammu, Apr 28 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh on Friday said that Poonch terror attack on April 21 in which five soldiers were martyred was carried out with active local support.
"Such attacks (Poonch) cannot be carried out without local support," the police chief told reporters after taking stock of the ongoing search operations in Darhal area of Rajouri district.
He stated that the terrorists were provided shelter at one place and then provided transport to carry out the attack at another place.
Singh said that steel-coated armour-piercing bullets and IEDs were used to target army vehicle to inflict maximum damage, adding, "search to track the natural hideouts used by terrorists is being launched and initial investigations suggest that nine to 12 foreign terrorists may be active in Rajouri-Poonch area, who may have recently infiltrated."
They must have done proper recee of the area and despite rain, succeeded to target the army vehicle.
Similar bullets, which were used in Poonch attack, were found in the Dhangri, Rajouri attack as well.
"The group of terrorists involved in the recent attack may be divided into two and number seems between nine to twelve," he said.
One local, Nisar Ahmed (in custody), a resident of Gursai village, was already in the suspect list and has been an active OGW of terrorists since 1990 and he was found involved in providing logistic and other support to terrorists who carried out the Poonch attack, the DGP said.
"More than 200 people were questioned and 12 suspects have been detained so far and vital leads have been received into the incident," he said.
